Moving

I am surrounded by boxes. I have almost everything packed, except the bathroom & a few clothes left in the closet and a small bureau.

We still have not purchased furniture. We need furniture... until then we're sitting on the floor in the family room.

I need to measure the space for the new washer & dryer, before I order them.

T minus 3 days and counting...

Paying out on land speculation?

On NPR this morning I heard a story, NPR : Western Voters Weigh Shift in Property Rights, that sounded to me like voters were about to legislate that the state is liable for any changes that affect the future value of land. That is, if neighbor A lets the land there become a toxic dump, then neighbor B can have the state pay the reduction in *future* land value caused by neighbor A.

Of course, it would have to be an ordinance that allowed A to put a toxic waste dump on the property, but, still. It takes the risk out of speculation. One of the main reasons land speculation tends to have a large payoff is that it is extremely risky. Get rid of the risk, and its easy money. Too easy, basically.

MNF

I watch the college MNF game this past week. I originally put the TV on ESPN 2.

Oh... my head... the format... it hurts...

8 screens of constant movement on one TV screen. One kinda big screen in the center which showed the main camera, then on each side there was one camera on the coach, and one on the quarterback (4 total) and across the bottom were another 3 cameras. I think one was the "sky cam" which gives the funky rotate-around-the-players view.

It was too much. WAY WAY too much.

I quickly switched to regular ESPN, and then off the game as it was boring.

Hey look - neither FSU nor Miami can run! or throw! or catch! or block! I think at the end of the 4th quarter, the total run yardage for both teams was under 10 yards. *twitch*
