Home Detail - ZipRealty Real Estate

So, who wants to buy a condo? (and wow, did they take a crappy picture of the building... negative perhaps?)

What a Corporate Firewall

Whatever is behind this link:
Snopes Link was banned by my firewall for "extreme politics"

I've never heard of extreme politics before.

Project Management

Well, I just got a mini promotion for the job I've been in for ~2 months. I'm now being given my first complete project to manage. Soup to nuts.

Whee! (this is a good thing)

Houses - buying & selling

Well, I signed all the paperwork with a realtor to put my condo on the market. And then the realtor instantly became unresponsive - no emails, no phone calls, no responses. My condo isn't listed yet. I'm getting REALLY annoyed.

At the same time, DH wants to go look at houses to buy. That's fine. But when I say that weekend X and Y are out because I'm refereeing, he's getting frustrated. That I've had these two weekends scheduled for over a month as being reffing weekends seems to have escaped his notice. Also, that we can't buy a place until mine is sold. Whee.

Frustrated this morning.

Trivial Pursuit

Ok, I think I sort of accept that I cannot beat my husband at Trivial Pursuit. Even when I have a good game, I cannot manage to roll the right numbers to end up in the center. But, his gaffe last night makes up for it.

Question: "What 10 volume novel written by Victor Hugo was published in 1862"
DH answer: "War and Peace"
me: literally rolling on the floor laughing
DH: "What's so funny?"
me: "How can you confuse 'The Great Russian Novel' with a French one?"
DH: "War and Peace has French in it"
me: (more laughing)
DH: "Well, who did write War and Peace"
me: "Tolstoy"
DH: "No he didn't. It was a different Russian name"
me: (more laughing)
DH: "I'm serious"
me: goes over to bookshelf and pulls out War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy
DH: "Then who wrote Crime and Punishment"
me: "Dostoyevsky"
DH: "Not Tolstoy?"
me: pulls out Crime and Punishment
DH: "So what did Hugo write?"
me: "Les Miserables"
DH: (laughs) "I'm getting stupider by the hour."

Tired again

I spent half the week in Charlottesville. I didn't sleep well at the hotel, though, so I'm really tired - but still can't sleep. The good news is that my job seems to be going well. The CIO (my official boss, although not my line boss, if that makes any sense) called me in to talk about how happy they are with the "tremendous work" I've done so far. So far, I spend 50% of my day surfing the 'net and 50% rebooting boxes. Well, not really, but it seems like it some times.

Tomorrow should be interesting. 170? fencers in the event I'm reffing (although they might also throw me at women's foil, although at this point I'm more confident in sabre). Plus the ex I was on suing terms with is going to be there.

I hope we're done at a reasonable hour (like 9) so that I can drop off a card, but, who knows.

Oh, and I picked a realtor for my condo, but still have to do paperwork and have the contractor finish up the last bit - missing one light switch plate.
